Every year Tallinn welcomes more and more visitors from cruise ships, and the smart ones avoid the tours organised by the cruise lines. The cruise companies pack over forty people on a tour and their main interest is to herd you into souvenir stores so they can get their cut. Some people just make their own way around town, perhaps with the help of a guide book, but they will certainly miss a lot. If you’re only in town for half a day, then EstAdventures will help you to really gain an insight in Tallinn and Estonia, and make the absolute most of your limited time.

View with a Brew
A Tallinn tour with coffee and beer stops.
Imagine you had some friends coming from a foreign country to visit you and your town. Sure you’d probably show them the main sights, tell them a bit about the history and tell them what it’s like living there. However there’s a good chance you’d also stop at the best coffee house in town, call in and have a drink at your favourite pub, and have a quick bite at a great food place. Well, that’s how we approach this tour. View with a Brew takes in all of the sights in the Essential Tallinn Tour, but we also allow some time to stop for morning tea or coffee and to visit our favourite Tallinn pubs. There are no set stops, your EstAdventures guide will choose the stops based on what’s new, what’s good, what they think you will like, and of course what they know they like!
This is a tour for: people who want to see the main sights, as well as the favourite local hangouts, and then have a small amount of free time for shopping or to visit a museum at the end of their visit.

Complete Tallinn A four hour
driving and walking tour.
The star of Tallinn is certainly the Old Town, but it isn’t the only member of the cast! Some of the most fascinating places to visit are in Tallinn’s outskirts, and you need some wheels to visit them. We have arranged this tour to show you both the gems of the Old Town on foot, and the more distant sights with a vehicle. Your guide and driver will meet you at the harbour to begin the two hour driving section of your tour. Looping around the outskirts, you will have a chance to visit a number of sights, including many which regular cruise tours in their big busses just don’t have a chance to visit. You will then head into the Old Town, leave your transport behind and set out on foot to discover the winding cobble stoned streets and lanes. After the walk you will have some time to explore the Old Town on your own before making your own way back to your ship.
This tour is for: people who want to see both the Old Town and the newer sections of Tallinn, getting a more complete experience of Estonia’s capital.

A six hour hour
driving and walking tour.

This tour escapes the tourist bubble and takes you to a number of places no other shore excursions visit. You will be met at the harbour by your driver and guide. We then head into the Old Town where you can explore the Old Town on foot, learning all about the history and culture of Tallinn from the medieval period to today.
This tour is for: people who want to see the main sights in the Old Town, but also see some less touristy areas and get a sense of the Estonian countryside.

FAQ’s
How will I find my guide? Your guide will meet you at your harbour with a sign with your name on it. Full details will be provided in your booking confirmation.
How do we get into the centre? If you choose a walking tour the guide will walk with you into the Old Town. Unlike many other ports, your cruise ship docks in a very central location in Tallinn. For tours with a driving component you will do the driving section first.
What is the minimum age for the tours? There is no minimum age. Feel free to bring children of any age along. Just let us know how old your kids are so we can cater for them. If they need a car seat, please let us know so we can make sure we have one.
How do we pay for tours? You can pay online or in cash on the day. Online payments are processed by PayPal.
Can I pay in American Dollars? Sorry, no. If you choose to pay in cash we ask that you pay in Euros, and have the right money if possible.
How do we get back to the harbour? Your tour will finish in the Old Town, and you will have some free time before you need to head back to your ship. The walk back is 15-30 minutes depending on what part of the Old Town you start from. You could also catch a taxi or the cruise shuttle. For all of our tours we can provide return transport for an extra fee. Just choose this option when booking online.
How many people will be on the tour? All of the tours listed on this page are private tours, so you decide on how many people will be on the tour.
I’m by myself or with just one other person and we don’t want a private tour. Can I join another group? We have scheduled group tours starting in the Old Town at 10:00 every day, you just need to make your own way there. Alternatively you may like to put a message on a web site like Cruise Critic and put together a group. This is a great way to spread the cost and make new friends.
What if I meet some really nice people on the ship, can I add more people after I have booked? For the Essential Tallinn tour you can add people right up to the last minute. If you are taking any of the other tours we would ask that you check with us first, just to make sure that the vehicle we are using has room.

- Trip Advisor Review Oct 2011
We hadn't expected much from Tallinn, just a one day stop on our Baltic cruise, but the 4 hour walking tour with Estadventures made for a great day! Maria was funny and easy to talk to, she's a true Estonian, proud of her country and it's fascinating history and she enjoys talking about it! We feel as though we really made a personal connection with Tallinn and Estonia, and we got away from the tourist trap of the old town for a great walk into Soviet era Tallinn and the seashore. A highlight of our trip for sure!!!
