Following the historical harbors of Tallinn, we leave behind the rushing routines of the city without actually leaving and go off exploring the solemn peninsula of Paljassaare. During one of many stops along the way in the wonderful district of Kalamaja, and a road trip game of counting boats, a long pier will run in the water, where a rare sight of the city awaits. And in that moment, you shall find the tea to be English, the bicycles Italian and the humor Estonian, so it has the makings for a great time, indeed. With secret trails cutting across this birdlife sanctuary and the occasional watch tower to climb, the view on windy coastal meadows is breathtaking. As you sit back and hang your feet of the cliff, with old artillery positions reminiscent of heroic wars behind your back, it is the perfect moment to meditate on the blue sea. A bathing suit may come in handy, if you are feeling up for it.
